2026 Election Information:

November 3, 2026, General Election

Voters on the Permanent Ballot list will have absentee ballots mailed to their residential address or permanent mailing address 40 days before an election. You may view your voter information, including tracking your absentee ballot, at michigan.gov/vote. If not on the Permanent Ballot list, an absent voter's ballot application must be completed before an absent voter's ballot may be issued. Contact the Clerk's office via e-mail at [email protected] or call 248-332-3916 to request an absent voter's ballot application.

VOTER INFORMATION: The Permanent Ballot List allows voters to receive a ballot without having to submit an application. It's not too late to select this voting option by submitting the below applicable form to the Clerk's office. Because Election Law prohibits USPS from forwarding ballots, maintaining a permanent Absent Voter Application list is a better choice for college students or residents who expect to travel during an election cycle as a way to provide clerks with an accurate mailing address. Submit the applicable form below if you wish to receive a ballot to an alternate address.

ELECTION INSPECTOR INFORMATION: The Lake Angelus Clerk is always seeking additional Election Inspectors to work 4-hour shifts on Election Day. Election Inspectors must complete an Election Inspector Application which includes disclosing political party affiliation. Although "Independent" is no longer recognized by the State, there are seven parties from which to choose. Election Inspectors must also complete an on-line training course offered by Oakland County Elections prior to Election Day. Training is valid for two years and is based on the date as it appears on the completion certificate. Please contact the Clerk's office if interested.

Official Voter Information. Precinct 1. Lake Angelus City Hall, 45 Gallogly Rd.

Election Day: Tuesday, November 3. Polls open 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Lake Angelus City Hall, 45 Gallogly Rd., Lake Angelus, MI 48326. Early voting is available October 24 through November 1 at two Waterford sites (listed below). If you are in line by 8:00 p.m. on Election Day, you have the right to vote.

Key Deadlines

October 19: Register online or by mail. Last day to register at mi.gov/vote to vote November 3.
October 20 through November 3: In-person registration. Register at the Clerk's office with proof of residency through Election Day.
October 30, 5:00 p.m.: Request an absentee (AV) ballot by mail. Last day to request an absentee ballot mailed to you.
November 2, 4:00 p.m.: Request an absentee ballot in person. Apply at the Clerk's office to vote absentee in person.
November 3, 8:00 p.m.: Absentee ballot must be received. Return your ballot to the Clerk or drop box by 8:00 p.m.

How to Vote

Vote early in person (October 24 through November 1). No application needed. Show up at either Waterford early voting site with photo ID or sign an affidavit.
Vote on Election Day, November 3. Precinct 1 at City Hall, 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Photo ID or affidavit required.
Vote by absentee ballot. Request at mi.gov/vote, by mail, or in person. Return by mail, drop box, or at City Hall.

Proposals

State Proposal 2026-1, Constitutional Convention. All qualified electors. Asks whether a convention should be convened in 2027 to draft a general revision of the State Constitution.

State Proposal 2026-2, Campaign Contribution Restrictions. All qualified electors. An initiated law restricting campaign contributions from certain regulated utilities and government contractors.

Oakland County Zoological Authority Millage. All qualified electors. Renews and restores the Detroit Zoo support millage to 0.10 mill for ten years, 2028 through 2037.

Southeast Michigan Public Historical Museum Authority Millage. All qualified electors. Authorizes a new 0.2 mill, ten-year tax to fund public historical museums in Oakland County.

Waterford School District Replacement Operating Millage. Waterford School District electors only (Precinct 1-B). Would replace, restore, and extend the district's authority to levy up to 18 mills on non-homestead property through 2035.
